The Hon Sec cleaned his car for the first time since last season and all in honour of a special passenger the wicket keeper's wife. Even so Les Ormes players looked aghast at the rusting Astroid from Vauxhall  " did you really get here in that ?".

Nomads had made several visits to Chateau Des Ormes since the cricket club was formed but this was the first time in mid summer ans so found themselves with a few thousand campers and a hosts of discos and lustful nymphettes. However the average age of the party was such as to dampen the appetite of even the most ardent nymphette and so the consolation for all the Nomads other than Keith Alexander and skipper Mark Surridge was a lot of booze in the hotel bar.

Most of the party managed to arrive as planned but somehow perpetual student Kelvin Sutherland missed the boat, got on the next one and met an old flame who gave him a lift to Epiniac not a stone's throw from Dol De Bretagne. Somewhat remarkably Charles Fellows-Smith and Peter Marchant arrived by local train at Dol's station as planned having feasted in Dinard the night before thanks to Ryan Air. This was not a full complement as Russell Mann was too busy to come and various other miscreants fell by the wayside at the last moment like the many friends of Kelvin...so recruitment was required and that went well.

On Saturday two young men from Eastbourne CC's youth section and the next day a fanatical nipper and his dad. Two 35 over games were played both of which resulted in exciting finishes but it was the second one when the minute Zac joined Charles Fellow Smith who was padding up as if his life depended upon it. Zac hit a mighty two to everyone's astonishment and pleasure. But when Charles and Zac walked off triumphant after a punched boundary four off the back foot from Fellows-Smith.  The smile on Zac's face appeared to exceed his height.
