At Eton a decent top order line up collapsed to wrist spinner Innes-Kerr on a bouncy Agars Plough pitch either side of an early lunch after being invited to bat. At 117-7 Nomads were in dire straights but a stand of 90 by young Mahendra Parwan and skipper Michael Blumberg revived the innings helped by the generous removal of Innes-Kerr from the attaack for a while. Parwan scored the runs(98) while Blumberg offered advice between overs. Abetted by some lusty slogs from Peter Cooke a total of 234 was eventuallyÊreached all outÊ in the 53rd over .

Ramblers set off at a furious pace aided and abetted by wides, full tosses and long hops so that 50 were on the board off 6 overs. Srikanth brought some sanity at one end and began to take wickets steadily such that Ramblers were 176-6,5 wickets to Srikanth Kattaboyana. Boxcowan who started tentatively and might have been caught several times on another day grew in confidence to hit a fine 75 not out while Innes-Kerr Êkeep him company in a stand worth 60 runs when the winning runs were hit.

With a little more line and length a very enjoyable day would have seen a victory if not a much closer result.
