They had a team comprising an ex-Test captain and a current Oxford blue. We had a team comprising 9 players over 50 and a 12 year old.They batted in perfect conditions and made 243 (no one getting over 37). We batted in almost total darkness and made 68 (only 2 scores in double figures).

We got stuffed.

Hm!There were two Nomads playing for Gaieties and one Nomad is also a member of Gaieties. 

It is fair to say that it was almost pitch black for much of the Nomads innings and yet barely a drop of rain fell. In anything other than a 'friendly' match the game would have been called off.
