A  Nomads side with an injection of youth defeated Pink Elephants by 3 wickets. The all too brief return of 'Wakers' from deepest Uzbekistan was most welcome as he top scored with  98*, serious jug avoidance! Jeremy Lascelles scored 67 so an opening partnership of 138 chasing 216 looked to have set Nomads on an inevitable path to victory. However an astonishing collapse(very Nomads) to the guiles of Joe Ireland made the result much less assured.

In the end Wakers needed a six  for his century and one to win.He tried but only stroked a boundary four to finish on 98 not out with one over still to go.

Ireland took 5 wickets and earlier Nic Warde smashed 143 out of 216-7 dec for Pink Elephants.  We dropped Nic Warde several timesin between him hitting a flurry of huge sixes before being undone by a Blumberg grubber.

Pink Elephants made a very sporting declaration, perhaps too generous.! Thanks Joe!
