Nomads recover to record decisive win
Nomads defeated Tiddington by 5 wickets after a wobbly start chasing only 122 to win left us reeling at 40-5.However an unbeaten stand of 82 from De Le Ray Terblanche and Howard Lee took us to victory at this very attractive ground on a beautiful sunny afternoon.
Earlier Tiddington won the toss and elected to bat. While bowled opener Sims for a golden duck and with the score on 33 caught & bowled Morley off a sky-er. Colley & Edmundson took the score to 84 with some powerful shots before Page enticed a mistake from Colley who was well caught by Terblanche at long off.
Tiddington's innings then collapsed. A run out by Willis and four wickets from Terblanche aided by another from Page and a final one from While reduced the home side to 121 all out.
After a magnificent tea Nomads wickets fell quickly.Three batsmen recorded ducks. After a few powerful blows off the back foot Woolhouse was bowled and shortly after While was adjudged lbw to the same bowler who had at this point figures of 5-4-1-4.His next two overs went for 23 as Howard Lee and Terblanche settled in.
A flurry of boundaries from Lee and powerful shots from Terblanche took Nomads to victory in the 20th over.
This was our first visit to Tiddington and it was a good one resulting in three stalwarts leaving our hosts well past sundown!
