Nomads suffer serious defeat

Nomads won the toss and batted but suffered several disappointments. Victor Kandampully was out just short of a well deserved century. Andy Stokes arrived late and so went in lower than he should which resulted in Nomads declaring well short of par after 53 overs.

After the interval Sajjad must have been suffering from an inadequate tea for he was bowling well below his normal standard and he was savaged by Chesham’s openers, 60 runs off 9 overs. Young Charlie Moore removed Morris and old man Page deceived Anderson giving Nomads criteria for hope,71-2. However Chesham’s Numbers 3 & 4 now added 127 before Pagie removed Fowler for 69.Twenty runs later Watson was baffled and befuddled by Page,218-4 but Moore and Dawson saw Chesham home in the 39th over.

Despite this defeat Nomads lingered long at Chesham, a most hospitable club.
