Nomads Slaughtered

Nomads once again suffered crucial drop outs on the morning of the match.Indeed 'Doc' Bell arrived only to announce he had a back spasm and could not play. As our missing player was a top order batsmen this was serious. Warborough found us two keen youngsters to make up numbers.

Nevertheless the skipper Russell won the toss and elected to bat. When he joined the Hon Sec at the crease Nomads were 68-5 and it was only 12.15pm. The Hon Sec said to the skipper " Our 1st objective is to bat beyond 5pm if we score some runs as well so much the better”. Well we did this but only achieved 101 after 53 overs.

Warborough reached their target in the 20th over for the loss of 1 wicket, a very poor day for Nomads even if the evening in the Six Bells was splendid.
