Charlton Fifer nearly wins match

A remarkable mid order collapse even by Nomads standards threatened to scupper Nomads innings on this drizzly day after a delayed start. Saurav Sen and Steve Marions revived the innings, the former completely a fine fifty before the declaration.

Charlton Lamb and Jemile removed the Woldingham top order, 5-14. the introduction of Wakers wrist spin with a wet ball revived the home side’s fortunes temporarily. Two more Lamb wickets and o each for Sen and Banerjee seemed to have secured Nomads victory. However former sometime Nomad Sheldon and Grand Old Man Seale deprived Nomads of a win with a solid last wicket stand.

This was a miserable day weather wise and both teams were glad to retire to the Village Community club for some reviving liquid refreshment.
