Nagenda’s Astonishing Stamina July 1981

John Nagenda was a fine fast medium bowler who played for many wandering sides but regularly for Nomads over two decades being captain in 1983 and a Vice President for nearly 40 years. He represented Uganda and East Africa and played for East Africa in the inaugural ICC World Cup. He had astonishing stamina especially so for a man who lived life to the full, day and night. On this occassion he bowled continuously from one end for almost 32 overs with a break for lunch, a lunch which would have involved beer, wine and port.
