I n 1912 Stade Francais, a French multi sports club based in Paris, and competing in the then extensive Paris Cricket League came on tour to the London area and played Nomads CC on July 17th at the North Middlesex Club, Crouch End, London,N8.

The match was recorded in the Sporting Life Journal.

Stade Francais was still playing cricket in 1925 when a touring English club visited Paris also playing SAC. Today the club is famous for Rugby but also plays Football and Lawn Tennis.

Nomads were not to visit France until the 1970s when we made a series of visits to the Standard Athletic club in Meudon. Since the late 1990s Nomads have regularly played in France at Saumur CC,  Les Ormes CC  Brittany, Entrecasteaux CC, Cabris CC, Chantilly CC, Thoiry CC, SAC, Bordeaux Giscours CC and Nantes.

Cricket World XI visited  Dordogne in the late 1980s and Thoiry in 1991 and Virgin XI made a series of visits to Thoiry from the mid 1990s onwards which became part of the Nomads fixture programme.
