In July Colin Owen-Browne died at the very early age of 39.He had been a stalwart of the club especially in the years immediately following Sidney Caulfield’s death. He did much to revive and sustain the fortunes of the club when it may otherwise have declined to extinction. He had an immense enthusiasm for cricket and Nomads CC recruiting new players. Colin donated a Shield to the club to honour annually a Nomad who had made a special contribution off and on the field. This shield has a habit of disappearing. If sighted please inform the club Hon Sec.

In August Keith Ellison died.He had played several games earlier in the summer. He had captained Nomads for seasons 1974,5 & 6. A former Yorkshire league player he brought with him immense knowledge and experience of the game which combined with immense good nature and unexpected wit made a very special contribution to the Nomads playing experience.

This season marked a new era for Nomads under the captaincy of Mike Ghersie. Nomads became very much a winning club with a younger profile.
