We have no summary record of the club’s activity in 1914.However the club had secured the services of several excellent new members,JDA Scott who was to score a century against Welwyn CC,AJ Fullerton who was to take two eightfers against Finchley and Colnbrook as well as Dr E Archer and JH Growse. The prolific all rounder LG Kirkpatrick was recovering from Rheumatic Fever and unfit to play in the early season. Nomads get some mentions in the ‘World of Cricket’ in 1914. Nomads beat Barnes, St Thomas’Hospital and Colnbrook but drew with Richmond and also Allom where the rain saved the opposition. Reigate Priory beat Nomads. The Club Secretary had claimed to have strengthened the fixture list and Nomads were on the wrong end of three centuries. Nomads also played Chiswick Park and North Middlesex. It is not known who, when and where was the last game played in 1914.
The outbreak of the Great war in August curtailed the season. No AGM was held in the Autumn. Nomads were to suffer tragically in WW1 losing over half its membership killed. As a result the club did not resume until 1921.
