Nomads thrashed
This was a disasterous day for Nomads’ Batting. Both openers fell early for one run and then although DG Dalziel remained undefeated virtually no one supported him. Gross man reached double figures and LF Matthews with 18 staged a late partnership with Dalziel but eight nomads had contributed but 9 runs between them as the innings ended on 82.
Whitgift had a productive opening stand with Merrett top scoring with 56. He was ably supported by Henley with 30 and Lambert 20 so the schoolboys reached their target for the loss of 8 wickets. Subsequently the innings collapsed and by the close of play stood at 141-9 by which time VER Blunt had taken a fifer .
