Nomads well short despite tailend revival

Nomads were well out played by the Sir William’s XI despite Hollebone’s fifer but not helped by conceding 55 extras. Nomads innings stumbled to 118-7 with only BS Smythe 47 building an innings then AR Grossman 47 led a whirlwind revival at the tail to take Nomads to 180 but still fail to draw the match.

The first Sir William created a major Timber business died in 1936 but his son continued the Cricket XI.
