Nomads overwhelm weary Exiles

Nomads lost the Toss and Exiles elected to bat on a sunny warm day. Exiles had had a late night if not two and struggled against some accurate bowling reaching a meagre 57 after 20 overs. Vishal bowled 8 overs for 8 runs!. Exiles accelerated somewhat in the second 20 overs adding 115 for the loss of 4 wickets and the retirement hurt of Paul Steed. Foreign Office Ian Gordon had radar trouble but the nomads bowlers ere in the main accurate and Nasser Mohammed turned his leg breaks prodigiously. Exiles totalled 172-6 off 40 overs.

After a very good Tea Nomads Veterans John Olufawo and Rupert Style replied aggressively putting on 100 for the first wicket of which John hit 68 including 14 x 4s and one six. Sadly Matt Whitthread was run out by Rupert,125-2. with the score on 147-2 Rupert was retirred. At 155 Nasser was also run out after a couple of big blows but Matt Clifford and Fayaz Ahmed took Nomads to a six wicket victory in the 24th over. .
