A Tale of Two Tons

This match ended in exciting fashion with the scores level. The match was dominated by two centuries one by tom Balkwell, the other by Kahid Jariwala.
Wakers won the toss and inserted Old Vics. This proved to be a successful move as both openers were soon out the downside to this was the introduction of Tom Balkwell. He then scored 140 out of 211 including a break for rain. At the other end three more wickets fell and after an expensive Page over Old Vics declared at 217 -5 off 44 overs.
This left Nomads just 35 overs to reach their target and their openers made a decent stat 48 runs off 8 overs. Debutant youngster Kahil Jariwala now joined Jon Thonton and these two added a further 136 runs off 24 overs. With  three overs left Nomads needed 35 runs to win. 14 runs off over 33 and 11 runs of over 34 left Nomads to make 10 off over 35 which was bowled by Faisan Awan. Neither batsmen managed to pierce the field and  record a boundary and indeed Nomads needed 3 runs to win off the last ball. Jariwala and Keys scampered 2 so Nomads finished with 9 more runs and the scores level.
Phew!
Despite the absence of a Bill Bourke tea a most enjoyable day was had and what a fine debut by young Kahil Jariwala!
