Well fed Nomads victorious

Nomads found their way safely to Haxted House and lent the home side a player-David Pitlarge.

After a modest start Haxted’s middle and lower order collapsed apart from David Pitlarge who dug in with determination. He was not out at the end ,top scorer for Haxted. Hamza Sajawal took four wickets and Lachlan Nieboor on debut took three. Haxted were all out for 120 in the 44th over.

In reply Paul Wakefield was soon out and Jeremy Lascelles not long after whereupon Huzefa Sajawal made merry ably supported by young Tom Walker also on debut. These two added 78 before Huzefa was run out for 58.Run Out mode continued with Chetan Malhotra then also run out,112-4. Nomads now needed nine runs to win and Tom Walker and Lachan Nieboor saw them home in the 24th overs.

Once again Robin Hayley’s hospitality was outstanding, unencumbered by ECB Covid restrictions.
