Nomads rue dropped catches
A Campion century is a fairly rare thing requiring a great deal of time and some compliant bowling. After a bright start the Nomads innings was grinding to a halt so much so that the Abinger bowlers tossed the ball up and Campion whacked them for six! After some recalculation the Nomads innings was declared on 191-5 off 42 overs.
After a tight opening spell from Terry Hills, Maloney,Blumberg and Jeavons took wickets but Abinger's Hollyhead lead a charmed life being dropped ten times.Hollyhead top scored with 86 before being finally caught by John Dunley off Blumberg. Nomads still sniffed victory but a productive 9th wicket stand by Lofts(26*) and Cattermole(5*) took Abinger to a 2 wicket win.
There was some strange scoring of the Nomads innings. The batting adds up to 197 but the bowling makes it 191 while the scorer had ticked off 197 runs. However some how 191 was agreed. In the end it did not matter.
