Charlie Penn’s rapid ton takes Nomads to swift and early victory
Northwood batted first and coasted to 222 before declaring with just two wickets lost. Nomads had a rather good bowling attack so this was somewhat disapointing.
In reply the Nomads innings was dominated by a savage batting assault by teenage Charlie Penn who completed a swift unbeaten ton which left Northwood shell shocked but took the players early to the bar and mighty long did we linger.
One result of Charlie’s onslaught was that thereafter Northwood would always declare late in fear of another Charlie savaging. Sadly in never was repeated at Northwood!
