Kim Owen-Browne 1937-2024

Kim Owen-Browne died in February 2024 aged 86 having suffered from dementia for some time. In his youth Kim was a swift pace bowler  off a short  run up with an impressive career record with Nomads.

He was introduced to Nomads in 1969 by his twin brother Colin while on a visit home from USA where he worked for several years. On his return from USA he played regularly for Nomads throughout the 1970s.  He wrote warmly of his first Nomads captain Ian Crombie.

Setting up home near Tonbridge he transferred his loyalty to Woodpeckers CC though keeping in touch. Unfortunately for Nomads the  next generation of Owen-Brownes though  attending many Nomads games as children likewise became Woodpeckers.

Kim was very much a larger than life character with a huge smile but when not playing cricket forged an enduring business career.

When residing in London he hosted a memorable Nomads party.
