All the Nomads and supporters as the sun goes down in the West. Vienna were excellent hosts over this weekend and Nomads were to dine well and drink too much in the beautiful historic city of Vienna. Charles Fellows-Smith and Michael Blumberg used some spare time on Monday to go on the Vienna Wheel as famed in the Third Man Film.

On this tour we had the renown Queensland wicketkeeper Brad Murphy. No sooner had we gathered in a Viennese hostelry to meet the opposition than in walked another Queenslander.” Hello Mate” What are you doing here? This was the mutual greeting. They knew each other well. In view of the weekend’s results it was a good job this Australian cricketer was not playing against us just meeting his Vienna CC club mates

Vienna CC stalwart Wolfgang Teser worked in London for a few years and played club cricket. In between his league commitments he played for Nomads a few times. Mark Surridge who was Nomads captain for 2001 & 2002 and on our centenary tour to India has subsequently lived in Austria and is a member of Vienna CC.
