– Time GameNOMADS CC 190 (LG Kirkpatrick 33,FC Boully 33,E Bloodworth 32*,RF Popham 27,HD Warner 24) lost to CHISWICK PARK CC 195-8 (L Meakin 69,HAR Snow 40,AC Hayhoe 34*) by 2 wickets
Chiswick Park win win last over
Nomads with two sides out this Saturday were somewhat thinly pread especially with many members being unavailable. In the event Nomads batting did well with several cameos but no big individual score. Nevertheless 190 seemed to be a challenging total.
In reply Chiswick Park’s innings was held together by Meakin and Snow and an unbeaten cameo from Hayhoe saw them home in the last over eight wickets down. C Haywood took a wonderful catch to dismiss RM Worlock running forty yards he grabbed the ball one handed!
Chiswick Park Cricket started circa 1886 and the Australians and Middlesex played 1st class games there in 1887. After WW2 it was built over. The name Chiswick Park persists with the District Line Station and the Chiswick Park Business Park. To learn more about modern Chiswick Park click here.
