Lowther hits great ton but schoolboys hold on to draw
After a promising start Nomads innings was dominated by a terrific century from Lowther including 2 sixes and 13 fours. Lowther and Crook put on 102 for the 6th wicket in 51 minutes. Nomads declared at the challenging total of 256-7. In reply St John’s lost both openers for a couple of runs whereupon Fairfield and Henderson built a stand but then wickets fell cheaply . However Nomads bowlers were unable to complete the task and St John’s finished on 107-7. Nomads Fred Weeks took four wickets and St John’s Fairfield had a good game with 4 wickets and 47 runs.
