CHECKENDON CC 69 lost to NOMADS CC 70-5 by 5 wickets Easy win for Nomads
Nomads bowlers ran through the Checkendon batsmen quickly provoking an early Tea. In reply Nomads lost 5 wickets reaching a modest target. This resulted in an early dash to the nearby Black Horse pub with its fine range of Real ales. The first few matches had been cancelled due to ground condition so it was good to win the first match played in 1978.
