Nomads lower order set target too great for Pacific

On a fine autumn morning James Hamilton won the toss and elected to bat. Despite the fine weather the top order did not flourish leaving nomads 5-77 off 17.4 overs. however the lower order lead by Hassan Khokhar responded well to the crisis and cameos from James,Vamsi and Richard took Nomads to a respectable 201 just two balls short of the allotted 40 overs.

Although the Bar and Kitchen were functioning in the Highgate clubhouse no Tea was provided so Pacific brought their own while Nomads tucked in to Pizzas secured by Ben Butcher.

Although the Nomads openers had wicketless spells for the rest the Pizzas spurred them on and James, Umar, Ben and Hassan all took wickets to reduce Pacific to just 154 off 34.1 overs. For Pacific opener Afzal Butt was top scorer his innings being cut short by a sharp direct hit throw from Shaam. Ramis Khan scored 37 before being bowled by Ben Butcher. Ben took his Nomads wickets toll to 51.

Post match was most convivial as many of both sides mixed socially over drinks before departing home.

Pacific carry on to the last weekend of the month while Nomads seek more cricket and sunshine in Spain. Two Wandering clubs with extensive fixture lists!
