Golooba short but Nomads bowling below par

Nomads were deprived of East Africa and Uganda international wicket keeper batsman thanks to Kensington police. so Irritated that the teetotal Galooba proved alcohol free with both his breathaliser and blood test they commadered his car for further investigation forcing the cash short Galooba to hitch home to Streatham where his cricket gear was.By the time he got home exhausted he gave up and failed to make the return lugging his cricket bag through the public transport system to Osterly. Thank you Kensington Police Station. We still await your apology! This left us short of a regular keeper and a batsman, both factors were to prove critical.

Young Atul Surve made his debut for Nomads next day and continue to play for Nomads for several summers in his university holidays. However convincing the UK immigration authorities of the day that he was not a potential terrorist nor illegal asylum seeker required several letters from Nomads CC.!

Nomads bowlers somewhat underperformed as Gymkhana posted a formidable total especially given the quality of their bowlers. Nevertheless Nomads had a strong batting line up. Unfortunately we made a series of cameos. No one went on to build a big innings.Wih Golooba still missing ten Nomads were all out for 220, 56 runs short with a few overs to go.

Many years later in 2011 Atul was our tour operator for our tour in Goa
