Sunday August 30th v Albury CC

CANCELLED Opposition did not appear

On a fine sunny day Nomads all turned up as did our Umpire. Quite a lot of spectators were around the boundary edge as was common at Albury on Sundays. We had three youngsters from the Delhi Blues who were on tour but surplus to requirements this Sunday.

We eventually contacted their first team captain who said that the match had been discussed at the bar the night before but no one had said it was off. Eventually we made contact with an Albury club official who claimed that he had left a message with’ our contact’ Mike Willis saying the match was off. It was pointed out that Mike Willis had not played for us for some years and was not a Nomads club official and would it not normal to contact the Club Hon Sec or Fix Sec or Match Manager (we exchanged cards in those days.). Subsequently we made contact with their Club President and he saw no reason to apologise. So we dropped the fixture.
