Another Marshall was required

Nomads had a decent top order although it would have been even better with Tom Marshall who was thought to be in the frame some days before. In the event four Nomads batsmen got going but failed to push on for really big score. Then the long tail folded. As a result we were probably 35 or so short unless we bowled very well.

In reply Hurlingham set off at pace putting on 132 for the first wicket prospering off our three seamers in particular. It was the spinners who brought Nomads back into the game.Billimoria took 4 wickets for 42 while father and son Marshalls took 3 wickets rather more costly.

At 216-6 Nomads dreamt of an unlikely win but Hattea stood firm and although Nomads took another wicket it was too late.Hurlingham won in the 39th over by 3 wickets with two more overs to go.

This was still early days after the Lockdown and a joy to be playing cricket especially in such agreeable surroundings.
