Duggan & Lightfoot secure Nomads win
Blackheath openers posted an opening stand of 126 but it took time against some accurate bowling from Watson and Hamill. Eventually Nick Hamill removed Heard for 60 and Blumberg removed Seebold cheaply both to catches by Duggan. Nash and McDermott added a further 33 runs whereupon Maloney deftly caught & bowled McDermott for 84. Reid then took liberties with Maloney's bowling and the home side declared on 209-3 off 46.5 overs.
In reply Whiteway and Mann made a decent start but it was the 4th wicket stand between Lightfoot and Duggan of 93 that set Nomads well on the road to victory. Both were out before the end but Watson and Gregory saw Nomads home to a 4 wicket victory.
It is always a pleasure to play in the bucolic setting of Blackheath Cricket Club and with a win secured Nomads were in no hurry to depart before downing several pints.
