Nomads short of runs
James Hamilton remarked ”On paper Nomads are much the stronger side”. However on the pitch it did not work out that way.Put in by James Nomads top batters recorded 3 ducks and a 2. Only skipper Vic Kandampully 47 and Devam Shah 53 troubled the scorers. Sajjad hit a few mighty blows and Kevin Williams hung around for 15 off 58 balls. After a splendid Tea Nomads opened with Sajjad and Shah and both beat the bat regularly but without any luck. Harefield’s openers put on 63 added by some misfields and dropped catches. However with the introduction of Hassan Khokher and Ben Butcher wickets fell and continued to do so with the introduction of Rob Bonneywell leaving Harefield on 98-6 and giving Nomads a sniff of victory. However James and Stephen Croft added a further 34 before James was caught with the score on 132. Some more mighty blows from Stephen Croft and the match was won for Harefield by 3 wickets.
Many members lingered post match to enjoy Kebabs and Ale celebrating a good match well managed by MM debutant Hassan Khokhar and hosted in the best spirit by James Hamilton.
