The Pope Triumphant
Allen Abramson(32) and Alex Smith(14) added 52 for the first wicket before departing and then Russell Mann fell cheaply. The innings was transformed by a splendid century from Gregory well supported by Matt Duggan and these two added 131 for the 4th wicket. Andy Gregory known as 'The Pope' was elevated to three in the order and rewarded his skipper with a fine unbeaten innings so that Nomads declared early on 243-6 off 35.4 overs.
In reply Pretenders lost top order wickets steadily reaching 73-5 whereupon Guley and J Kuper added 95. however the late introduction of Gregory and the return of Marshall brushed aside Pretenders lower order so that Nomads won by 49 runs. July 9, 2020 11:30 am
