Depleted Nomads just lose No shows and late shows resulted a distinctly poor show by Nomads on our first (and only)visit to Morden. Nomads batted first and struggled to score with ant momentum.Simon Patrick made top score of 46 and when he was out Steve Scowen was elevated in the order to spur things along. This he did with a six and three 4s in a cameo 27 which elevated Nomads to 127-6.Shortly afterwards the innings was declared leaving Morden 38 overs to pass Nomads modest total.
In the event Scowen, in particular, and Tony Whiteway made them fight for their runs.Scowen took four wicket in a 19 over spell and T Forte was run out but Morden scraped home off the penultimate ballin a tense finish.
In the circumstances with the resources available Nomads acquitted themselves quite well but this was not a good advertisement for Nomads cricket.
