Cambridge Tour May 25-28th

The annual Cambridge tour consisted of three matches scorecards or details of which we have in the preceding years. For 1929 we have only the scorecard below. The historical weather report for the period does not indicate Rain so we can only assume two more matches were played for which we have no record!

Downing Bowlers stifle Nomads chase
Nomads bowlers, Webster, Weeks and Craddock reduced Downing college to a modest 110 with only three batsmen reaching 20. Nomads had high hopes of chasing down this target but wickets fell regularly. While Fred Weeks was at the crease victory seemed likely but with his fall for 32 the innings withered to end 5 runs short of Downing’s total.
Downing College Cricket Club had been going since 1890.
