Chaitanya Bishnoi ton sees Nomads to overwhelming win.
Last year Essan Warner hit a ton, this year James Hamilton had him caught for just six and with back restored Yasin Mohammed took four wickets so the Beddington innings floundered. Skipper Ben and debutant Chaitanya Bishnoi removed three more so the Beddington innings was tottering at 9-130. However a ninth wicket stand between Ayesh Upmal and Louis Baker-Stewart took the home side’s total to 200 whereupon the innings was declared closed.
In reply Vic and Aditya both fell to Joe Ireland,2-35. Chaitanya Bishnoi on leave from USA joined Olly Burgess and these two put on 166 runs to win the game for Nomads by 8 wickets. A very fine batting display, a maiden Nomads century for Chaitanya.
There were six Nomads in the Beddington side with whom we are developing a very productive relationship. In the first game of this series Nomads included a cricketer from Japan, Nomik Tomizawa, and maintained this international element this year with Chaitanya. The series stands at 2-2 with one drawn.
