Owen Marshall’s maiden ton sets up Nomads win

Nomads won a huge victory over a very weak East Herts Cavaliers side at the very agreeable Allensbury CC ground in Ware. Youngster Owen Marshall and veteran Jon Olufawo both hits tons before retiring in a stand of 212.Nomads declared after 31 overs on 279-1(3).
After tea Cavaliers put up little resistance except for Murphy and were all out for 79 off 31 overs.Ben Ralphs was the only bowler not to take a wicket though he should have as the keeper dropped a chance. Harry Low may have felt the need to redeem himself but we all felt sorry for the ancient batsman he ran out!
The early finish meant we repaired to the rather grand club house for several beers before finishing a fine day at the Ware Tandoori restaurant.

Owen Marshall scored his maiden century. When Owen went to the bar to order a jug he had a surprise, a welcome surprise for his team mates.
