Narzm & Abdul in magnificent form but Montenotte draw the match

On a chill day of showers and sunshine Nomads won the toss and elected to bat. Narzm struck a whirlwind fifty before holing out on 73 from 24 balls. Abdul motored on with a more measured innings carrying his bat for 88. The Nomads innings was of two contrasting halves. In the first Nomads hit a century in ten overs but then managed 100 in twenty overs. Veteran seamer Matthew Paramalingen suffered a mauling from Narzm in his early overs but peservered to take three wickets and bowl tidily while at the other end former Kiwi 1st class cricketer Felix Murray took six wickets. Nomads were all out 204 in the 31st over.

During Tea it rained again and the restart was somewhat delayed. However Nomads bowled 12 overs quickly as Kadir and Fleming got Montenotte off to a solid start, 61 off 14 overs. Nomads maintained attacking fields throughout the innings and were rewarded with 4 more wickets and with the opposition on 111-5 with 7 overs left Nomads sniffed victory. Murray and Sisley now put on 65 in 7 overs thus thwarting Nomads ambition. Jedri finally bowled Murray for 38 but by then the draw was inevitable.

Nomads had several young debutants in this match, Abdul Jedri scored 88* and took 1 wicket, Luke Giffen took a fourfer. Also Louis Baker-Stewart and Tomas Bizwas.We look forward to long Nomads careers for all four of you.

It was most fortunate that a game was played at all and most Nomads lingered post match for a few beers and much discussion however not before causing a flood in the shower room.
