Cavaliers block out draw like Roundheads

Nomads posted a commanding total of 263-3 off 39.3 overs on a glorious Autumn day of warm sunshine. Jim Keys completed a fine century before retiring and both Pat Patel (66) and Jono Vernon-Powell(440 batted well.

In reply East Herts Cavaliers lost wickets steadily but the 7th wicket resisted for ten overs to draw the match. Umeer Rasheed took three wickets in a 17 over spell and young Shaam took two but the others mostly veteran Nomads bowlers lacked penetration.

An enjoyable late fixture blessed with fine weather.
