Matthew,James and Ben secure substantial victory
The dry weather. had not been kind to the Oxted pitch which proved to be extremely unpredictable. It was therefore to the great credit of Matthew Balche and James Hamilton that they put together solid innings which took Nomads to a respectable 191 off 44.1 overs.
The Oxted reply was rather feeble.James and Akshay removed the openers and most of the rest succumbed to a fine spell by Ben butcher. Duker and Read did muster innings of 20 plus but the Home side were all out for 88 off 37.1 overs. Nomads had won by 103 runs, the second mismatch of the holiday weekend.
Several Nomads celebrated the day’s play at an Indian Restaurant before departing home.

In addition to playing Oxted in 1982 Nomads had played Oxted 1951-56,1958-73 and Limpsfield CC 1962-1973 when they were two separate clubs. Nomads suffered rather badly at the hands of Limpsfield who were a mighty club in those day full of Tonbridge School former 1st XI players.
